From June to July, the 2020 Health Justice Philly: Virtual Youth Summit presented a series of live online sessions for teens & young people to learn skills, share tools and create messages for hope, healing and peace in Philly. The virtual summit was developed in collaboration with Get Healthy Philly’s Youth Health Corps partners: YEAH Philly, Health Promotion Council, and the Village of Arts and Humanities.

Amidst concern and responses to COVID-19 and racial injustice, the Health Justice PHL Leadership group shifted away from an in-person summit, and dedicated the virtual summit as a space to focus on young people and community healing because we believe that young people are at the forefront of moving us toward a culture of peace. The summit was attended by over 100 young people (ages 14 – 26) and allies in Philadelphia who identify as change-makers, creatives, educators and peacekeepers.
