National Nutrition Month 2021

According to, “National Nutrition Month® is an annual nutrition education and information campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. It is celebrated every year in the month of March and focuses on the importance of making healthy food choices and building physical activity habits.”

This year’s National Nutrition Month theme is to personalize your plate which means that “there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and health. We are all unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds and tastes!”

  • Buy versatile, healthy low-cost ingredients, like canned no salt added vegetables and beans, frozen vegetables, eggs, and canned tuna
  • Practice food safety at home
  • Share meals with those you live with or virtually when able
  • Reduce food waste – eating right to reduce food waste
  • Try different flavors and foods *beware of food allergies*
